W. B. Martin Gross received a B.A. degree cum laude from Amherst College in 1958 and an LL.B. degree from Harvard Law School in 1961. He has been with the firm of Martin, Craig, Chester & Sonnenschein LLP since 1961, and a Partner since 1968.
He has served as counsel and as a director of several corporations in the $10-$500 million sales range and as a director and counsel to several public philanthropic organizations, including The Anti-Cruelty Society, where he serves as President. He has served as Village Attorney for the Village of LaGrange Park from 1969 to 1997, as a Special Assistant Attorney General in Illinois from 1968 to 1969 and as a Special Counsel to the Vice President of the United States from 1967 to 1969.
He has served as a member and President of the Hinsdale School District 181 Board and as a Trustee and President of the Village of Hinsdale. He is a member of the American, Illinois and Chicago Bar Associations and the Legal Club of Chicago.
Born in Chicago in 1936, he currently resides in Hinsdale with his wife
